Bdaitec HummiSort is now operating at China Post’s Nanping Network Operations Center. It handles fine sorting after the initial sorting stage, directing mail into destination-specific bins for subsequent dispatch preparation.
Before dispatch, a mail item passes through several sorting stages. After initial sorting, routing it accurately into the bin for its onward destination is an important link between sorting and dispatch preparation.
At China Post’s Nanping Network Operations Center, Bdaitec HummiSort serves this stage of the process. It receives mail from upstream initial sorting and automatically delivers each item to its assigned bin, helping staff carry out subsequent containerization and dispatch preparation.
Letting the equipment handle repetitive sorting
On site, mail enters the equipment through the induction station. The system automatically reads the item information and identifies its sorting destination. A shuttle then carries the item to the corresponding sorting outlet and deposits it.
From identification to deposit, the equipment performs repetitive routing and conveying tasks. This reduces the need for staff to decide destinations, move items and deposit them one by one, making mail processing more continuous.
Flexible sorting allocation by mail destination
Mail for different routes must be collected separately, and operations need to adapt to the sorting plan. The equipment has 80 sorting outlets that can be allocated according to routing requirements. Multiple outlets can also serve the same route, supporting consolidated collection and subsequent dispatch preparation.
The equipment also provides full-bin detection and bin clearance management, helping staff monitor bin status and coordinate the next operation in time.
Recorded mail movements support clearer operations management
Alongside automatic sorting, the equipment records mail weight, sorting destination and processing status, and interfaces with the postal delivery platform. Staff can view sorting volumes and operating efficiency, supporting daily management and issue traceability.
Records show which bin each item enters and which processing steps it passes through, making on-site operations more transparent and easier to manage.
This deployment integrates automated sorting into the existing mail-processing workflow at China Post’s Nanping Network Operations Center, connecting initial sorting with containerization and dispatch preparation. By adapting equipment to the on-site workflow, Bdaitec supports fine sorting of postal items and orderly day-to-day operations.
